Record Class Properties

As would be expected in a records management solution, everything within Gimmal Records revolves around Record Classes. One subset of configurable options that affect records classified under a given record class are Record Class Properties.

Let’s take a closer look at a few of these settings.

Archive Record Details

Affecting behavior once a record within this class is deleted, setting this property value to ‘Yes’ tells the application to archive, or maintain, internal data about the record.

Setting this value to ‘Yes’ also enables configuration of the following two properties.

Archive Record Properties

When set to ‘Yes’, repository-specific metadata about the record is maintained, even after the record has been deleted.

Archive Record Audits

When set to ‘Yes’, permanent audit trails specific to actions taken upon the record within Gimmal Physical are maintained.

Destruction Certificates

When set to ‘Yes’, a permanent record providing details about the destruction or deletion of the record is maintained within the Destruction Certificate.
